Applied’s GelPort system facilitates complex abdominal procedures such as colectomy, splenectomy, and nephrectomy. Unique in its design, the GelPort system maintains
pneumoperitoneum during insertion and removal of the surgeon’s arm, thereby minimizing the dangers of rapid desufflation and the resultant loss of visibility. The GelPort system allows trocars to be placed directly through the GelSeal® cap, allowing instrumentation to be introduced alongside the surgeon’s hand, and often minimizing the number of access ports in the patient. |
